Transposition tool questions

Hi all,

I'm a new SmartScore 5.0 user. I've encountered a couple of minor issues:

1) I transposed a score from key of Eb to key of Bb. All of the notes transposed correctly, and so did all of the chord symbols. Issue is that the Eb chords transposed to A# instead of Bb. This also affects all the other chords in the score that are with flat symbols. They all transposed to the enharmonic '#' equivalent.

Is there a way to set the transposition tool so that it transposes the chords correctly according the to key signature?

2) In the transposition tool window, the key signature displays are off by
one line, ie: the flat symbol for the key of F is on the 2nd line from the
bottom instead of the 3rd line from the bottom, the sharp symbol for the key of
G is on the 2nd line from the top instead of the top line. Although the key
signature displays in the tool window are incorrect, placement of the key
signature on the newly transposed score is correct.

It's a minor issue but would be nice to have the tool window displaying correct key signatures.

Any tips or suggestions highly appreciated,

Eddie Lastra

Hi Again Eddie,
We don't see this on our systems. Is it happening for anyone else?

I wonder if it's bass clef; #/b seem to be in correct spot for that clef

I can't transpose at all. The transpose tool is not active, and Control T doesn't work.

Are you a MIDI Edition user? Remember, the MIDI Edition does not have this function.

Well yes I am. I was not told when I purchased that this function was not available. What's a MIDI user to do?

Which product do you recommend? Can I insert key in the draw mode??

In MIDI you should be able to just select all and drag up or down. You'd have to change each track, but that should work. I'm not at my PC or I'd test it. Let me know if that works for you.

EDIT - Later the same day:
When I got home and tried it on my PC I found that this did not work as I thought it might. I could only drag one note at a time in piano roll view. Sorry.
