Re: Any news on Catalina upgrade?
Latest update....
To all our SmartScore Mac users
Several months ago, Apple released their latest operating system, OS 10.15 Catalina. It’s important to understand that current and previous versions of SmartScore will not operate on that platform. SmartScore X2 and its prior iterations are all 32-bit. Catalina is pure 64-bit and will not support any 32-bit applications, including SmartScore. Avid users of SmartScore should avoid installing Catalina until Musitek releases its next version, SmartScore 64. We expect to release SmartScore 64 for Mac, Windows and Linux sometime by June 1st. NOTE: This is educated ESTIMATE. Anyone who has purchased SmartScore X2 after April 1, 2020, whether new or upgrade, will automatically be “grandfathered” and will receive a free download shortly after the release date.
We’ve been working hard for over two years to prepare SmartScore 64. We can tell you that development is well along and that it’s looking really good and running very well. SmartScore 64 will include a streamlined new look, a smarter interface, and, of course, improved recognition. We can’t wait to get it into your hands. As always, the upgrade will be reasonably priced and available on DVD or by direct download. We will be notifying you by e-mail as soon as it becomes available. Unless you have a second computer running a compatible operating system such as Mojave or Windows10, we encourage you to delay installing Catalina.
Throughout our 30-year history, we have always applied the same 2-month grace period when releasing a new version. To be fair, it must also be strict; even if it disappoints some who may have purchased SmartScore a day or a week before the cut-off date. But in the end, we know you will be thrilled with SmartScore 64.
Thanks for your understanding.
We’ll be contacting you soon.

Re: Any news on Catalina upgrade?
I hadn’t used Smartscore for so long. Much to my surprise when I found out that SmartScore64 was out there. So, I upgraded my Mac to Catalina and then purchased my new copy (yes my old copy was too old to upgrade).
SmartScore64 seems to be running well on my MacBook Air with Catalina. I look forward to relearning the software....
