Defaults don't get the job done

So I bought some sheet music on-line that came as a pdf. One would think that this is the best case scenario for this tool, yet after recognition, percussion symbols disappear, grace notes disappear, characters in the lyrics disappear.

Am I missing something obvious?

No. SSP does a pretty poor job of recognizing precisely those elements: grace notes, percussion symbols, and lyrics. Triplets, too, sometimes.

It does really well at almost everything else; you just happened to hit on the soft spots. (Personally, I do my recognition without text or lyrics. It's easier to put them back in in Finale, after I've done the recognition and exporting.)
