Change Instrument does not take effect on first geat of measure

I press Program change, Select voice 1, Select Woodblock from list and click on the first beat of the measure.
The instrument change takes effect on the second beat of the measure on playback.

Changing the instrument back seems to work.

Using SmartScoreX2 pro [sign in to see URL]. I have just recently removed and re-installed.

Submit a ticket to Tech support. You might even want to send your score to them.

I've found them to be very responsive and helpful via e-mail, but they rarely visit, here.

Re: Change Instrument does not take effect on first geat of measure

I've been hesitant to reply, mostly because I never took the leap to SSX2 and I've found lately that some of the menus and dialogs have change from the version I use, but also because you don't say whether the first note in the measure is the first note in that channel after the ProgChng. That is, if the first note is tied to the last note in the previous measure, the NoteOn event occurs before the ProgChng, and as a tie translates to a prolongation of the previous note before the NoteOff event rather than a new note, that second note has no independent NoteOn.

Although it would be better to as Mikey suggests open a support ticket, you can gain some insight by opening a "New Midi View" as an Event List, then finding the inserted ProgChng. If isn't some situation like I describe above, you can also "fix" the issue by moving the ProgChng event in the list to a position before the NoteOn for that first note.
