Can't get rid of extra measures.

To delete any barline, hit the "X" on your keyboard.
Position your cursor over any symbol you want to delete. It will highlight yellow. Left click to delete.

Alternative: Hitting the "I" key will toggle "Insert barline" and "Delete barline".

After recognition of very clean images, I wound up with extra measures inserted into the document. This image shows the first of these. Notice the extra bar line after the clefs in the lower half of the image. During playback, this results in a measure of silence. This is illustrated in this image, showing the MIDI roll of one of the parts. Notice the extra measure (75) with no sound. All 8 parts in the document are similarly blank at measure 75.
I have attempted numerous times to delete this extra barline. If I type an 'X" for the delete tool, I am unable to select the barline after the clefs. I know of no other way to delete this measure. Can anyone help?

Re: Can't get rid of extra measures.

I've had that problem but couldn't remember how I fixed it and I don't think my correction was elegant.
I searched for some files that had the problem and found one and to my surprise I found that:

Select the "barline"

Press X button to enable Delete mode

Mouse with the barline delete cursor near the unwanted barline. I found that the barline turned yellow when I was in a specific spot on the right-hand side of it (about 1/8" or 3mmm). It was not selected (yellow) when I was right on it or to the left of it.

Left click when selected and it disappeared.

Hope this works for you too and it just isn't a quirk of my file.

Thanks for your suggestion. I tried what you suggested multiple times before submitting my original post. Unfortunately it doesn't work, because the errant bar-line is not selectable (no matter where I put my cursor it doesn't turn yellow). So I can't delete it.

I was afraid of that.

From what I remember my correction that I used previously had to do with using other barlines. Unfortunately, my test file is not good because I can select the barline.

1. Will a Shift display the handle for this barline. I can get rid of it by dragging it all the way to the left. I think this may put an extra barline at the end of the previous line which can be deleted.

2. I also deleted the barline at the end of the previous line and it fixed the problem.

I wouldn't do any of the above without making a backup copy of the enf file first.

If the bar line you wish to get rid of appears at the beginning of the measure, deleting the last barline at the end of the previous system should remove it.
