Multipage PDF(&TIFF)

Does Music-to-XML support multipage PDF or Tiff or do you have to treat every page separately.

How are partial systems treated (e.g. first system piano only, second line SATB & Piano)

Re: Multipage PDF(&TIFF)

Music-to-XML supports multi-page PDF and TIFF files.
Optimized systems are handled exactly as they are in SmartScore X2... from the bottom up. That is to say, parts that appear in System #1 / Page #1 will be assigned to the lowest stack in the list. As additional parts appear in subsequent systems, they are assigned to higher levels in the stack. Example: A piano-vocal arrangement with a piano introduction in the first 2 systems: The vocal part will be assigned to Part 1 while the piano parts will be assigned to Parts 2 and 3.

I don't have SSX2, but in my older SSX the "Add New Parts" option (in the Recognition Options tab) lets you choose to add them to the top or bottom. Is that still available and it just defaults to add them to the top, or is that now the only option?

Re: Multipage PDF(&TIFF)

M2XML has absolutely no editing capacity at all. What is written is what is output. Adding or extracting parts is done within the importing program. As with SmartScore X2, M2XML reads and assigns parts (staff lines within systems) from bottom up, numbering them starting with the highest number (the largest system recognized) and moving up to Part #1. It sounds crazy, but it allows for proper numbering of parts when systems are optimized... e.g. Vocal part joins the piano accompaniment on the 3rd system. Bottom up counting allows for the vocal part to be assigned "Part 1". Make sense?
