NoteReader + sign doesn't enter a full menu screen

I have installed NoteReader on my iPhone. In the online manuel I read that when the plus sign at the bottom is clicked a screen with "
begin a new music capturing session, open Session Manager, visit the SmartScore Player web page and review these Hints & Tips or request that additional information be sent to you.

should appear.

Not with me I do only see tips and hints. I did restart my iPhone but the result is the same.

Anybody any idea what good be wrong?

Are you using the free version? I wonder if that might be why you have the problem.

Possibly some functions are locked.

thank you for you repley.

Yes I'm using the free version. I'm considering to get the payed function if it works well. So far not really.

When I capture a printed score (from a book) NoteReader works fine. Even when I tild the camara and not flatten the page. When I make a capture from a hand writen score it doesn't. I'm using paper from the printer, blue ink and a very steading handwriting. the little hand is in the upper right hand corner. The light is indirect TL. It is actualy a better readable then the capture a made from the page of the book.

I took a picture with the camara and than let NoteReader read it. From the nine notes that are on paper one was captured. So far the application seems useless.

I'm not sure if you've ever used the computer based version of the program (SmartScoreX2), but even it can't really read handwritten scores either. Both versions are essentially OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software, and even text-based versions of those struggle with handwritten input--just too many variations in density, form, spacial relationships, etc in the myriad graphical elements.

After using SSX for so long, from the little I've been reading here (I don't even own a "smart" phone!), I'm actually a bit surprised the app does as well as it does.

I'll agree with the previous answer. No music OCR will work on a handwritten score, no matter how neatly done, regardless of what the advertising says.

While I find the smartscore x2 a brilliant program I was excited about the note reader APP. but I find this a total waste of time. (the free one) I think it's just an intro into taking more money off you for the premium product
