Viewing All Staffs
I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to make everything visible and editable at the same time. If I follow the manual and position the mouse over a staff doesn't do anything. If I deselect view active staff, everything stays grey. Then, for no known reason, 30 minutes later everything is visible again. AAAAUUUGGGHH
I'll go through the manual again. Was this program ported from the MAC? It has the floating dialog boxes and a non-intuitive layout that's difficult for Windows users.
I'm going to try to find the beamed notes tool bar again... wish me luck.

Re: Viewing All Staffs
You can only edit one staff at a time. If the staff that your pointer is on is not becoming the active staff, then you may have turned on your cap-lock. Cap-lock freezes active staff to the staff you are pointing to, so when you move your pointer to another staff, it will continue to leave the original staff active. This function is handy when notating cross-staff notes. However when cap-lock is left on, you will get the results that you describe. Hope this helps. If not, try to give more details of what you are doing when it happens.
