Purple Measures?!?
Apparently sections that have something wrong with them show up in purple.
I cannot find what to do about them, they usually have an extended pause during playback.
I've looked at the Quick Start and the User Guide, and can't find what to do.
Help,
Dave

Re: Purple Measures?!?
Hi Dave:
Purple measures have an incorrect number of beats with respect to the time signature. Carefully compare the original and the recognised versions and edit to match. When everything lines up the measure will turn white. Until it does, playback will burp. I haven't experimented, but it may wait long enough for each note to be played for its full value.
Things get tricky if you have multiple voices in a measure (evidenced by coloured notes). Then each colour has to add up - including rests for each voice.
Cheers!
Stephanie

Re: Purple Measures?!?
Thanks, that made sense. Now I have a problem, it appears the first measure in row? of my music is only a single beat instead of the standard 4. If I put 3 rests in it will have a long pause at the end of each row?
Any thoughts on how to fix those?
Thanks again,
Dave

Re: Purple Measures?!?
Dave,
Reference "Pickup" and/or "Split measures" in the SmartScore 5 manual. There's a provision in SmartScore to deal with this.
In short,
- Grab the Properties tool (Esc)
- Click on the beginning bar of the measure in question.
- Specify Playback to be AS WRITTEN.
You can also assign the feature globally by going to PLAYBACK > PLAY AS WRTTEN
