Hi,
Be sure your scanner is properlly installed on your MAC with the latest TWAIN drivers available from the Canon Website.

Then, open SmartScore and go to FILE > SCAN MUSIC > SELECT SCANNER. Choose your scanner from the list.

Go to FILE > SCAN MUSIC > CHOOSE INTERFACE > SMARTSCORE'S.

Provided the divers available at the Canon website are up to date to work in your OS, you should then be able to scan using SmartScore's scanning interface.

I have the same problem with my HP 5300c - no OSX support at all. I bought VueScan for $49; it's an excellent shareware scanner utility which supports a huge variety of scanners, has good colour quality and can scan 1-bit TIFFs suitable for processing by SmartScore. You can find it at www.hamrick.com or via VersionTracker (www.versiontracker.com).
