Margins vary over a whole scanned piece

quote:

When scanning music into SmartScore, the resulting margins vary depending on each staff's original position on each sheet of music. I would like to set the same left/right margins on all staves. Right now I adjust each staff individually. Is there a way to do that globally? I have tried different things in Edit / Format Score but nothing yet has worked. SmartScore X2 Songbook.

Scanned pages usually have irregular margins.
To view and print your score centered on a "normal", (default-sized) page in SmartScore, push "Page Setup" in the Navigator (FILE > Page Setup).
In MARGINS pull-down menu, select "Center on Page".

Could you crop them in Image Editor, before the scan recognition?

I have sometimes lined up the left margins in my image editor before scanning. But that's a pain, and I hoped SmartScore had an easy fix (aka, a feature I hadn't discovered yet) to address this.

I ask again, have you cropped them in image editor? I always check them, there. Simple deskew and crop. I can draw in the occasional missing left barline. And white out areas with unwanted text, even though I recognize without text.

Hi Mikey
In your reply to the user who had irregular margins on each page (probably due to cropping during scanning and/or cropping in the Image Editor)...

It's easy to standardize all page sizes in SmartScore. Simply go to FILE > Page Setup and in the Page Margins tab, change "From Recognition" to "Center on Page".
